As an essential food
processing company we are open.

On Thursday, April 8, 2021 the provincial government issued a stay-at-home order for all of Ontario.

As we are an essential food processing company, we have decided to remain open during this time. Volunteers are still welcome to come if they are willing.

We have adjusted our protocols even further to cap off the amount of volunteers per shift at ten. All volunteers must notify the office and be scheduled if they wish to continue on their regular shift.  For other business or information please call or email rather than stopping in at this time.

We have important work to do. The demand for our product locally and internationally is at an all-time high.

Safety of our volunteers is our top priority. We will continue to supply all volunteers with mandatory personal protective equipment and social distancing measures. Please call or email the office to let us know that you wish to continue to volunteer. If you are interested in volunteering, there is a few more spots left during a few of the shifts. Shifts remain Monday to Friday 8-10am and 10-12noon.

Cabbage Surprise

SWO Gleaners is a busy place and every now and then we are delighted with something different. How about a bit of cabbage? Well, that’s what we worked with this week. Our volunteers are always there to help out.

How About Those Apples!

Each year thanks to our generous suppliers we are able to make delicious apple snacks for those in need of food support. Abe from Thiessen Apple Orchards loaded us with apples and we offer our thanks to Andrew and Krissy for their donation. Apples are dried and distributed as apple snacks to people in our community and afar. Thanks also to Phil at Warkentin Apples for their donated supply as well. The apples were amazing this year!
